Residents of Muldersdrift and surrounding areas have reported an increase in the number of sex workers plying their trade on Elandsdrift Road near the Lammermoor Estate.

One motorist who did not want to be named said, “It is about time that the police act on this; the number of times these underage girls run out and flash is scary, and it makes me very sad.”

The Muldersdrift Police have confirmed that some sex workers operating in the area have been arrested and that the sector vehicles would be doing regular patrols.

Buying and selling sex in South Africa are illegal, as are related activities such as brothel-keeping and pimping.
