A case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened by the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) for further investigation, following a collision between a truck and light motor vehicle on Wednesday, 29 January.
Traffic moved at a snail’s space after a truck smashed into the light motor vehicle at the intersection of Corlett Avenue and Ontdekkers Road, causing major traffic congestion.

Medics treated the injuries of the woman driving the light motor vehicle. Her car was severely damaged during the impact.
JMPD Superintendent Wandile Mrubata, who was at the scene, told the Record that since there were no serious injuries, a case of reckless and negligent driving was opened. “This matter will be investigated by the Roodepoort Police,” he said.
