A woman driving a car with a baby on her lap has sparked uproar after a concerned motorist published the images on social media.
The outraged community member posted the photos on Facebook after spotting the woman driving out of a private school in Radiokop with the child on her lap.
The member said she confronted the driver, but her intervention went in vain, as she claimed that she was pushed off the road and yelled at using racial slurs.
In spite of any circumstances, having the baby on her lap while driving is unjustifiable, according to the Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD)spokesperson Superintendent Wayne Minnaar.
He warned, “It is a traffic violation if the driver allows any person or child to occupy any position, that prevents them from having full control of the vehicle. The driver can get a traffic fine”.
