Was Garden electricity pole vandalised?

City Power had to arrange for repairs at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden.

Two staff properties belonging to the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden were plunged into darkness in the early hours of 24 January following damage to an electricity pole.

According to a notice by Ward 97 councillor Leah Knott, the Garden’s pole transformer was discovered on the ground. City Power had to arrange for repairs.

Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden curator, Xolelwa Mokoena confirmed the incident, saying that the damage did not have any effect on the Garden. Only the two properties were affected.

It is unclear whether this was an act of vandalism.

This is developing story.
