Woman shot in cold blood at Honeydew shopping centre 

A case of attempted hijacking and murder was opened at the Honeydew Police Station.

A shooting that took place at Eagle’s Landing Shopping Centre on Friday, 17 January resulted in yet another sad loss of an innocent life.

Honeydew CPF Patrollers received a call for assistance at 9.45pm last night alerting them to a shooting in the shopping centre.

Upon arrival at the scene Vitamed and Netcare 911 were already trying to save the life of a female victim who sadly died from a gunshot wound.

The police arrived at the scene and the forensic services carried out their investigations.

Honeydew Victim Support was also on scene to assist the family of the deceased during this difficult time.

Captain Juanita Yorke, police spokesperson, confirmed that a case of attempted hijacking and murder was opened at the Honeydew Police Station.

She added that the suspects are three males travelling in a silver BMW 3 series. She advised members of the community with information to contact the police station on 011 801 8400.

Honeydew CPF Public Relations Officer, Micheal Steyn said, “Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family and friends of the victim. We would also like to thank EC Security for their assistance on scene tonight.”
