The arrest came after the councillor Amelia Bester and Leah Knott opened a case against the culprits following safety concerns about the lawless act.

Four out of the five suspects received bail. But the fifth suspect was denied bail because of being in the country illegally.

The four suspects entered the dock from the gallery while the fifth suspect appeared from the holding cells.

Their matter was postponed by the Magistrate for 27 January for copies of the dockets in order their matter to be made ready for trial.
