People love to celebrate New Years with alcohol, the only problem is they don’t like the consequences if they celebrate a bit too much. Hangovers can really ruin your day, but the Record has you covered.

Here is a list of five hangover remedies to help you get through the day:

•Water – alcohol causes you to become dehydrated and this can cause hangover symptoms like headaches. Drink plenty of water. Drinks with electrolytes are also very good, but steer clear of caffeine because that will only make the dehydration worse.

•Tomato juice – a lot of people turn to this remedy because tomato juice is high in fructose which helps your body process alcohol faster.

•Sleep – Strenuous activity or any activity can make a hangover worse, it is best to just relax and sleep. At least if you are sleeping you won’t feel the pain.

•Bananas – these easy to eat fruits are high in potassium, which your body tends to lose when you consume alcohol. Not only will they replenish your potassium levels, but bananas can help soothe an upset stomach and give you energy.

•Ginger – ginger has been used to help treat ailments for a long time. The best part is that it helps your body process alcohol so it will help with headaches, nausea and upset stomachs.
