Advantages and disadvantages of Christmas
While most people are happy and cheerful, Christmas has both advantages and disadvantages:
Christmas is a very important holiday and a special time when most people are in a good mood.
However, Christmas has both advantages and disadvantages:
• The main advantage of Christmas is that the whole family can sit down at the same table and sing Christmas carols.
• On Christmas Eve, every Catholic household shares a wafer and best wishes, and later, the whole family goes to church for Mass. Many other Christian families attend Christmas morning services.
• Another advantage of Christmas comes in the form of gifts, which some people open on Christmas Eve after dinner, while others wait till Christmas morning to open theirs. Santa Claus always brings presents for the polite, well-behaved children, and many parents use this custom to motivate their children to be good all year long.
• One of the biggest disadvantages of Christmas is that many people see it as a pretext to show the rest of the family how rich they are.
• Material things often overshadow the spiritual side of the Christmas, especially when we buy a lot of unnecessary items.
• We spend a lot of money on things we really don’t need, instead of spending it on the homeless, who need help all year round.
•Another problem is that people tend to forget about the importance of family during the festive rush.
To sum up – Christmas can be the best time of the year, as long as we don’t lose sight of its most important aspects.
