The dog stolen from its yard on 6th Avenue had been miraculously reunited with its owner. CCTV footage was published of the callous dog-napping and thanks to the community-wide search, the dog has been found.

A jubilant Daleen van Niekerk expressed her joy and gratitude at the return of her Lara saying, “We are grateful for all the angels out there who sent us so much love. It kept us going in the fight to find our girl. We are thankful that we have been able to find her unharmed. If our story can inspire others to save animals then we will be grateful.”
The details of the rescue can not be disclosed at this time as police are currently investigating the case. Nevertheless, the outcome gives hope to those who have been and may become victims of this seemingly random crime. Daleen, busting with joy summed up her feelings, concluding, “We are so grateful to the world for supporting us and are thankful she is okay. Our family is whole again.”
