The word ‘accountable’ is defined as being required or expected to justify one’s actions or decisions; responsible.
If someone is not holding us accountable for a task, we need to do it for ourselves.
We need to take responsibility for the outcomes of a situation that we had power over. If you are given a task, you need to hold yourself accountable. You can either take the necessary steps to complete the task or take responsibility and accept the consequences when you have not done it.
Bob Proctor described accountability as the glue that ties commitment to results. If you take action and responsibility and do what needs to be done, then you will see results.
Catherine Pulsifer said, “At the end of the day, we are accountable to ourselves; our success is a result of what we do.”
