Robbery and attempted murder suspects wanted

The spokesperson for the station, Constable Slindile Ntuli detailed the crimes these suspects are wanted for.

The Muldersdrift Police are appealing to the public to assist with providing information on the whereabouts of three suspects who are wanted for house robbery and attempted murder.

Two of the three suspects are being sought for attempted murder after robbing a business on Plot 189 in Rietvlei. The remaining suspect is wanted for house robbery on Plot 79.

“The first incident occurred on Wednesday, 13 November at about 3am when a victim aged 53 was patrolling and spotted two suspects armed with firearms approaching his two colleagues, aged 56 and 46, who were at the back of the store.”

“The suspects fired two shots at both victims, tied them up with shoelaces, assaulted them with a shifting spanner and took two cellphones and an undisclosed amount of cash from them,” she explained.

She added that the suspects then broke into the front office and took electronic appliances and a six-metre cable before fleeing the scene.

“The injured victims were taken to hospital for medical attention,” she said.

The station’s acting station commander, Captain Jones Baloyi, urged business owners in the area to install surveillance cameras and ensure that video tapes are replaced daily.

He further encouraged business owners to keep their business premises well-lit, inside and outside.

“More awareness campaigns will be conducted to educate business owners on how to prevent such incidents,” he said.

Ntuli went on to explain the house robbery where a lone victim aged 64 was also shot at.

“Police were informed after the victim was already taken to hospital for medical attention. No information has come to light at this stage and the investigation continues,” she said.

“Anyone with information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects is requested to contact the Muldersdrift Police Station on 011 952 4600 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111,” Ntuli urged.
