Man ploughs through wall in morning traffic

No injuries of any kind were sustained

Impatience in the morning traffic is a common sight and the monotony of the daily commute can lead people to take unnecessary risks. For one commuter this morning, 8 November, it was one roll of the dice that he will wish to forget.

Travelling on Albertina Sisulu Road in the mornings can be a harrowing experience. The cavalier disregard for the rules of the road and general safety is alarming and using the oncoming lanes is the manoeuvre of choice for the more daring drivers in rush hour traffic. One such driver paid for his impatience when he drove his white Toyota Corolla through the wall of a residential development shortly after 7.30am this morning.

Attempting to overtake the congestion, the driver of the Corolla had to make an emergency manoeuvre when he realised the space he required did not exist. On merging back into his own lane, he was rear-ended, causing him to lose control of his vehicle and resulting in him colliding with the wall. There were no injuries sustained and neither of the drivers wished to be named or to comment.
Traffic is a by-product of modern life, but the only thing worse than being late, is to not get there at all.
