Make a child smile this Christmas

The festive season is upon us and Child Welfare South Africa Roodepoort is asking for your help to spread some Christmas cheer to their foster children.

CWSA Roodepoort will be hosting their annual Christmas Function for Foster Children on Friday, 6 December from 10am. They will be catering for about 150 children at this event and are asking the community for donations to make this Christmas a happy one.

The organisation is asking for any help with putting together their Santa Shoeboxes. The boxes can hold anything that comes from your heart. If you would like to donate but are not sure what usually goes in a Santa Shoebox, here is a small list to help:

• Small, gender-neutral gifts

• Sweets, biscuits, chocolates and chips

• Pencils and crayons

• Exam pads

• Toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, soap, face cloths, Vaseline and lotion)

• Storybooks

• Activity or colouring books

CWSA Roodepoort hosts this event every year as a way to spread joy to foster children. They are not necessarily asking for an entire shoebox from one person; if items are donated separately the organisation will put together the boxes.

Any gift donations can be dropped off at their office (45 Du Toit Street, Discovery) and all financial donations with the reference ‘Xmas’ will go towards gifts, wrapping paper, transport, and treats.
