In the women’s race, sisters Aimee and Megan Young crossed the finish line holding hands, in what was seen as an adorable but confusing finish by the time-keepers, who had to record who got in first. However, Megan was decided as the winner of the race.

Jon Rosenberg, the CPF’s public relations officer and facilitator at the event, explained what they plan to do with the proceeds from the event. “This is an annual event that’s been going for about six or seven years. It serves as a CPF fundraiser. Proceeds raised at this event will go to the patroller initiative and the victim support girls,” he said.

Despite the rugby fever that kept many indoors, Rosenberg said he was chuffed by the growth in feet fall. He also thanked the sponsors who adorned the school’s field with their company branding for supporting the event. He went on to share a glimpse into how they plan to improve the event. “Next year will be turned into a whole day event with stalls and more categories, so watch this space,” he announced.
