WATCH: Moments before the Strubens Valley collision …

The footage shows an orange traffic light for motorists travelling on Hendrik Potgieter Road heading towards Ruimsig.

 

Dash cam footage of a collision involving two cars on Saturday, 12 October has been supplied to the Northsider.

The footage taken from another vehicle shows one of the vehicles involved trying to skip an orange traffic light turning red, which led to the collision at the Hendrik Potgieter and Fredenharry Roads intersection in Strubens Valley.

The footage shows an orange traffic light for motorists travelling on Hendrik Potgieter Road towards Ruimsig. A black Audi is seen attempting to turn right into Fredenharry Road as the traffic light is about to turn red for vehicles travelling on Hendrik Potgieter Road; however, the driver of the white BMW takes a miscalculated risk, and crashes into the side of the Audi. The Audi turns 180 degrees while the BMW turns 360 degrees, facing oncoming traffic when it came to a stop.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries and were treated at the scene before both vehicles were towed away.
