On 11 October about 11.40am, an armed robbery took place at a shop in Witpoortjie.
According to a witness, there were three suspects, two of them armed. The witness stated that the one suspect left the premises first, carrying an allegedly stolen handbag filled with the items he had stolen. He was about to leave when he was called back by the other suspects. He then fled the premises.
Police and Apcan Security were on scene soon. An undisclosed amount of money and other valuables were stolen from the premises, but no injuries were reported.
The Roodepoort Police spokesperson, Captain Juanita Yorke, was contacted for comment, and as soon as it is received an update will be published.
