Three thugs allegedly tried to break into a house in Witpoortjie on the afternoon of 7 October. The male resident, who was home at the time, attempted to stop the intruders, but he was stabbed in the arms several times while trying to close the door.

One suspect has reportedly been caught and arrested; the Record is currently awaiting a statement from the Roodepoort Police. This is a developing story and an update will follow as more information becomes available.
