Two arrested for stripping Florida billboard

APCAN has thanked all role-players who were involved and urged residents to report any suspicious activity.

On Tuesday, 20 August, APCAN and the Florida Police worked together to arrest two suspects who are said to have stripped a billboard on Ontdekkers Road.

According to a Facebook post by the APCAN Security Group, their control centre received a phone call from a community member, who reported this matter.

“The Control Centre received a call from a community member where he stated that two men were dismantling the billboard on the corner of Ontdekkers Road and Die Ou Pad, in Florida. Two reaction vehicles responded to the scene and found stolen metal to the value of R130k,” stated the post.

The suspects were handed over to the Florida Police Station.

APCAN has thanked all role-players who were involved and urged residents to report any suspicious activity.

The Florida Police Station has been contacted for comment and once that is received, a follow-up will be done.
