Fun day at WRLCC

Volker concluded by saying that they host this fun day every single year, during the first weekend of August.

The West Rand Lutheran Community Church (WRLCC) held a fun day on Saturday, 3 August, which catered for the whole family.

The event was filled with fun activities, from soccer tournaments to face painting and popping the balloon.

Attendees also had the pleasure of being entertained on a train ride. They also watched a fashion show and took part in a penalty shoot-out.

Jochen Volker, the senior pastor at WRLCC, said they are very involved in the community and want to be a church that reaches out to residents and touches lives.

“We have a non-profit organisation that we run, through which we invest in the lives of teenagers and children. We also have eight foster-children whom we look after and provide for,” explained Volker.

Jochen went on to say that they have two schools which are part of the church, and also provide for them.

“This community fun day is a fundraiser and through it we will support the church ministries, the schools and our non-profit organisation – they will each get an equal cut from the profits of this day,” he said.
