According to Tonja da Silva from the Witpoortjie Warnings Group, at approximately 7pm, the Community Policing Forum (CPF) took the child to the Roodepoort Police Station, after hours of waiting for the police to come.

“When they arrived at the police station, Pardon was taken to a place of safety for children in the area. At about 10pm, I received a phone call from a constable from the Krugersdorp Police Station, who said someone had called him and told him there was a missing child reported at Kagiso Police Station,” said Tonja.

She explained that it had been alleged that the child was from Tshepisong and went missing when he was left with his caretaker.

“His parents went to work and the boy was in the care of the caretaker. According to the caretaker, she went to the bathroom, only to find the boy gone when she came back,” said Tonja.

The Witpoortjie Warnings Group extended their gratitude to everyone that helped to reunite the boy with his family.
