Nelson Mandela’s legacy is kept alive
Never give with the intention to benefit – give with the intention to benefit someone else.
In celebration of Nelson Mandela’s birthday and his legacy, Sikhala Attorneys visited the Wings of Inspiration care centre on 18 July, to give to the less fortunate.
The company donated non-perishable items, including, tinned foods, sugar, mealie-meal, soap, rice, soups, peanut butter and more.
“For us as an non-profit organisation, days like Mandela Day are like Christmas, because the donations will last us for about three months. We urge the community to adopt the spirit of giving and help us to help others,” said Wings of Inspiration’s co-founder, Anthea Da Costa.
Founder of Sikhala Attorneys, Khathu Sikhala, shared what he thinks about giving to others: “As the good saying goes, ‘The hand that gives is the hand that receives’, meaning that the more you give, the more you will receive, but never give with the intention to benefit – rather give with the intention to benefit others. To add to that, the impact of giving is not only in making a donation, it is in making a difference in someone’s life. It is never about how much or what you give, its about the impact of your giving on a person’s life.”
