Viral voice note about CR Swart untrue – do not forward
The Records journalist went out to the scene and found that there was nothing going on.
A plea for residents not to panic has been issued, as a voice note is making rounds on social media warning people to avoid CR Swart Road, today, 24 July.
In the voice note, a man is heard saying, “Everybody must avoid CR Swart Road by Barnard Stadium across the Engen Garage. There are about 70 Bravos [code for black people] and over 10 taxis, fully loaded. They are busy closing CR Swart, causing havoc and beating people in the streets.”
