Update: Investigations underway to determine the cause of fire at a local scrap yard
No injuries were reported
An investigation is underway to determine what caused the fire that took place on Saturday, 20 July, on the corner of Main Reef and Randfontein Road.
When the Record was on the scene, authorities reported that it was a veld fire, however, according to a Netcare 911 report, a scrap yard with automotive spares and tyres had caught alight.
“At 6.24pm, on Saturday, Netcare 911 responded to reports of a fire at a business in Creswell Park. When paramedics arrived on the scene, the fire had already covered most of the property,” read the report.
No injuries were reported.
