Roodepoort youngster shows off his cooking skills on TV

His favourite part of Disney Cookabout is all the fun facts he learnt and the locations he travelled to.

Twelve-year-old Zondwa Mditswa recently put Roodepoort on the map when he was a contestant in the Disney Cookabout television show.

Disney Cookabout is an interactive game-show that uses cooking and food preparation to create a fun-filled approach to healthy eating, stress-free cooking and affordable food.

“It was one of the best experiences of my life and it was such a privilege and honour to be on the show. The show has sharpened my cooking skills and I met new people,” he said.

Zondwa is a Grade 7 learner at Laerskool Dr Havinga and his favourite subject is Natural Sciences. He loves to play outside. In his spare time, he likes to sing (he is a tenor), watch gamer-videos on YouTube and play games on his PlayStation.

This was not his first acting job, but, according to him, it has been the most fun. His favourite part of Disney Cookabout was all the fun facts he learnt, as well as the various locations he travelled to. He entered the show because he saw how much fun the contestants had in previous seasons and he wanted to learn more about cooking and farming.

Zondwa and the other contestants battled it out each week to take home the Silver Spoon before the final cook-off when an overall winner will be rewarded with the Disney Cookabout Golden Trophy, as well as R50 000 for their school, to assist in a healthy living initiative.
