#ThrowBackThursday: Taking it back to 1981
If anyone has pictures of events that happened in and around the West Rand in years gone by, please share them with us.
Today is #ThrowBack Thursday and we focus on an event that happened on 27 September, 1981.
A parade, with drummies from local colleges and schools, marched along Goldman Street in Florida. Members of the staff of the Roodepoort Record also participated in this parade.
According to the photographer of the parade, Rod Kruger, they were marching towards the old OK Bazaars.
He said that his favourite picture was that of the vintage fire engine.
