Two people were arrested after an attempted robbery in Witpoortjie, today, Thursday, 4 July.
According to an APCAN Security Group Facebook post, their personnel responded to a panic alarm from the Supermarket.

“Our APCAN officers wrestled with and managed to apprehend one suspect, while one fled on foot. Our back-up vehicle gave chase and caught the other suspect. They were handed over to the police and taken to the police station,” the company said.
APCAN confirmed the incident to the Record and said the suspects tried to rob the owner of money, and added that the third suspect fled when he saw the security company’s car approaching the shop.
