Lions Club of Wilro Park to host Golf Day

There is a great incentive this year for the first person to achieve a hole-in-one at the sixth hole on the day of the fundraiser.

In just three months’ time, the Lions Club of Wilro Park will host its annual charity fundraising Golf Day, with all monies raised going towards the Lion’s projects during 2019 and 2020.

The event, to be held on Thursday, 5 September, will focus this year on the Lions Club International pillars of service, which are vision, paediatric cancer, diabetes, hunger and environment, under the motto “We serve.” The Lions Clubs International is the world’s largest service club organisation.

Tom Burns, the convenor of the Golf Day, said, “We aim to make the event bigger and better than before. The event will be a Betterball Stableford, which means team entries of four golfers each, with a shotgun start.”

According to Tom, there is a great incentive this year for the first person to achieve a hole-in-one at the sixth hole on the day of the fundraiser. The person will win a holiday to the value of R60 000.

Local businesses are urged to sponsor and donate towards the event as it is an excellent opportunity for a worthy cause.
