Suspects nabbed with robbery implements

According to the Johannesburg West Cluster standby duty officer, Sergeant Mpho More, the suspects were arrested on 30 May after being found with house-breaking implements.

 

Four suspects aged between 38 and 58 are expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court this week, following their arrest for possession of robbery implements.

“It is alleged that on 30 May at about 12.00pm, members of the JHB West Cluster Police were patrolling around Florida when they noticed a silver Renault Sandero with registration number FN 03 RS GP stationary in front of a house on Skinner Street, with three men trying to force open the gate,” she explained.

She added that when they saw the police, they jumped into their car and drove off. “Police followed them to Berg Street, where they searched their vehicle and found house-breaking implements,” she said.

According to More, all four of them had previous charges, ranging from hijacking and business robbery, to possession of both unlicensed firearms and housebreaking implements on their criminal records.
