Water to be restored in Hamberg soon

Water tanks have been placed.

A burst pipe has been identified to be the cause of Hamberg not having water for over four days.

According to a Johannesburg Water official, Eleanor Mavimbela the burst pipe was located at the stream in Hamberg. It was covered by tree cuttings and was discovered by City Parks as they were working in the area. “We estimate the burst to be repaired within the next four to five hours. The Hamberg suburb should then have water restored,” Mavimbela said.

The water tanks that have been placed will be refilled during the outage.

Water tanks have been placed in the following streets:

– Corner Albertina Sisulu Road and Wandel Street

– Wandel and Oxley Streets

– Berg Street near the train station

– Potgieter and Skinner Streets
