“Two suspects wearing police uniform stopped them and demanded the victim’s driver’s licence – they then threatened both victims with firearms and instructed them to get out of the vehicle. They were forced into a maroon Toyota, their faces were covered and they were driven around before being dropped off in an open veld in Slovoville,” the Muldersdrift Police spokesperson, Constable Slindile Ntuli explained.

She added that suspects are still at large. The police are therefore appealing to the community to assist with any information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects. They can contact the Muldersdrift Police on 011 952 4600 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.

Slindile also advised motorists to be wary of the following vehicles which are being used in hijackings in the area: “The vehicles the hijackers used recently are a black Mercedes Benz, a silver Golf GTI and a white Nissan bakkie. They are said to be operating on Malibongwe Drive in Randburg as well”.
