Mellow Oaks Academy holds annual Mother’s Day High Tea

Mellow Oaks Academy held its annual Mother’s Day High Tea on Friday, 10 May and all things were bright and beautiful, just as the theme indicated.

Mothers, grandmothers and aunts who looked good in striking, vibrant colours, came to enjoy the various items on the programme for the afternoon.

The school hall was filled with beautiful artwork and colourful décor which the learners had helped to make, arrange and set up.

The incredibly talented learners performed various songs, skits, dances and poems honouring their proud mothers. The Zulu dance number was a great hit, as was the ramp modelling instruction given by a Grade 12 learner, who is a professional model. The modelling item got some of the mothers out of their seats and onto the stage.

The guest speaker, Yolandé Loots, inspired the women present, as she shared her wisdom and replenished the audience with the promises of God.
