Wings of Inspiration received an award at the South African Heroes Awards

Kirsten Richardson and Anthea Da Costa walked away with an award at the South African Heroes Awards event.

To prove that hard work and dedication pay off, the founders of Wings of Inspiration received recognition at the first annual South African Heroes Awards. The event was held at the Uncle Tom’s Hall in Orlando West, Soweto during the weekend.

Founders of Wings of Inspiration, Kirsten Richardson and Anthea Da Costa were nominated in the Specialised Care category for their outstanding service to the community. To their surprise they were honoured with the award.

“We are extremely grateful to receive the award – not for ourselves but for the community we serve. This helps our sponsors, whether they are companies or individuals, to see that their contributions are being put to good use. We are thankful to Anointed Media for hosting an event like this, giving organisations and individuals exposure and encouraging them to do better,” Kirsten and Anthea said.

The South African Heroes Awards seek to celebrate ordinary South Africans who are doing extraordinary things to uplift their communities. Wings of Inspiration, a home for orphaned and abandoned children of all ages, is situated in the Roodepoort CBD.
