Upon arrival at the bloodied scene, one of the dogs had already succumbed to its injuries while the other lied in agony before being rushed to a local vet by BCI Security.

A third dog managed to escape without any injuries.

“We are investigating a serious case of animal cruelty,” said Allen.

He added that the injured dog is still being treated at an animal hospital while the third was taken to an animal shelter.

BCI’s operations manager, Rudi Holtzhausen, who gave details on the incident, said the police together with ER24 took the suspect to Helen Joseph Hospital to determine his mental state.
