Florida Lake swimming pool temporarily closed

This is due to a leak that has developed

Florida residents wanting to cool off during the last summer days, will have to make another plan for the time being.

According to Caleb Finn, the councillor for Ward 70, the Florida Lake swimming pool will be closed until further notice.

“This is due to a leak that has developed inside the pool. The pool is losing too much water, and officials had to close it until such time that the leak can be located and repaired,” he explained.

He advised residents to visit the Florida North Swimming pool for the time being, and said, “They are open seven days a week.”

Caleb added that this was the first season in years that the pool didn’t close due to technical issues and said, “I really have to commend the Department of Sport and Recreation on keeping the Florida Lake swimming pool open for the vast majority of the season. In previous years we have really battled due to maintenance issues.”

He said that the only other issue they experienced during the season was a shortage of lifeguards, resulting in the pool being closed on alternate weekends. “We are trusting that this issue will also be resolved during the upcoming swimming season.”
