Woman killed by taxi on Nic Diederichs Road
It's believed the accident occurred at about 8am this morning.
A woman was killed earlier today when she was hit by a taxi on Nic Diederichs Road, close to Taylor Road.
The exact circumstances surrounding the accident and the moments leading up to it are unknown, but according to Vitalmed director, Eric Nicholls, when the paramedics arrived on scene, the woman was already deceased. “There was no hope of reviving her – she had sustained serious injuries and there was nothing the paramedics could do,” Eric said.

Eric stated further that there were several witnesses to the accident and that the taxi did not flee the scene. “City of Johannesburg Emergency Management Services arrived on scene shortly after the incident, along with members of the police and the JMPD’s forensics team to conduct investigations,” Eric said.
