A video of the incident was posted by the company depicting the trio attempting to breakdown what looks like a door.

An attempted break-in by a syndicate believed to be targeting properties in the Honeydew area was thwarted by the swift response of a local security company.

Just before 9pm on Saturday, 2 March, BCI Security was alerted via a WhatsApp group by a client from the Honeydew Residents Association (HRA) who needed help when three armed suspects attempted to break down the kitchen door of his house.

A video of the incident was posted by the company, showing the trio attempting to break down what looks like a door.

According to BCI, in less than three minutes, members of their Operations Team and Incident Support Unit were at the property.

“The three suspects fled upon seeing our units, firing shots as they left,” the post read.

After the arrival of more units, a search was conducted for the suspects who had fled into the adjacent veld.

According to BCI, that was the second incident involving these three suspects targeting properties in the HRA area in the last week.
