Foundation Retirement Home for old age celebrated Valentine’s Day

Flower Foundation Retirement Home residents were happy with the treatment they received and are looking forward to next year's event.

Elderly people from the Flower Foundation Retirement Home in Witpoortjie recently celebrated Valentine’s Day.

The staff at the home organised the Valentine’s Day function for the old folks as a way to express love for their patients and also to remind them that they are not forgotten.

Hein Zentgraf, 65, from Henley-On-Klip in Vereeniging, attended the Valentine’s Day celebration where he aroused the feelings of love among the senior citizens through his musical performance, which left them longing for more.

Francois Zentgraf, 92, and his wife, Leonar, 87, residents of the retirement home, have been in love for 67 years and said they involve God in everything they do. They also support each other constantly, and that is the reason why they are still happily in love.

Robert Goate, another resident, said the celebration reminded him of the old times, and wished the youngsters the best for their relationships, hoping that they would cherish each other, and grow in love and respect for each other, because respect is important to sustain any relationship.
