Progress Road and Nick Toomey Boulevard remain closed

This morning traffic is heavy and motorists are advised to be patient on the roads.

Motorists are urged to find alternative routes as Progress Road and Nick Toomey Boulevard have been closed.

This comes after a protest that took place yesterday, 18 February, leaving the roads in a bad state. This morning, traffic is heavy and motorists are advised to be patient on the roads.

The protest was lead by residents of Emhlangeni informal settlement in Grobler Park, after City Power disconnected their illegal connections during the past weekend.

This resulted in them burning tyres, throwing stones at cars and also damaging properties.
