Hoërskool Roodepoort Infrastructure – Remedial work to be undertaken

Structural Engineers to conduct an assessment of the structures and make recommendations.

 

The Gauteng Department of Education’s spokesperson, Steve Mabona, has released a statement on the infrastructure debacle at Hoërskool Roodepoort.

In the statement, Mabona wrote the following: “As the department we are aware and noted with great concern the structural problems at the school; however, we have already dispatched our internal structural engineers to conduct an assessment of the structures and make recommendations. This assessment has necessitated that the school not use the affected areas for teaching and learning whilst the department follows the required processes to source service providers to conduct remedial work at the school.

“We can also confirm that we are intending to conduct remedial work in the 2019/ 20 financial year. It is our understanding that the structural defects are caused by roof leaks,” concluded Mabona.
