A “Rooderpoort” police bakkie has created a few giggles in the community while doing the rounds in the precinct with its branding identification (Roodepoort) spelled incorrectly.
The vehicle was recently spotted by a community member who shared the photo with the Record after she’d had had a good laugh about the error which she believed could have been avoided if the station had paid attention to detail before the branding was given the go-ahead.

When Roodepoort Police Station was approached for an explanation of how the mistake missed the eye of the approving department or officer, the spokesperson Captain Juanita Yorke said the photo was taken about four years ago and the incorrect branding was rectified.
