[GRAPHIC]: Here’s why you should be recycling your glass

There is one Glass Recycling Company drop-off bank in northern Roodepoort, at the Second Cup restaurant in Weltevreden Park.

The Glass Recycling Company (TGRC) is continuing its endless fight for sufficient glass recycling around the country by encouraging you to visit your nearest glass bank. TGRC believes in the infinite potential of glass recycling to make a real and positive contribution to society. The company, which was established in 2005 following a Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Department of Environmental Affairs, managed to increase the rate of glass recycling in the country from 18 per cent in 2005 to 41,5 per cent in 2016.

TGRC therefore urges and encourages you to start recycling today by dropping off all your glass bottles or jars at your nearest glass bank. For those who might not be able to identify a glass bank immediately or might not know what we’re talking about, it’s a rather large green plastic container that TGRC uses for collecting a community’s recyclable glass.
