Roodepoort Police to hold sector meeting

All stakeholders welcome.

Roodepoort Police Station has announced that there will be a Sector 2 meeting at the Town Hall in Berlandina Street, on 16 February.

The meeting starts at 9am and is expected to last until 2pm.

They have invited all residents from this sector as well as the relevant stakeholders, such as security companies, to attend.

Residents of the following suburbs of Roodepoort that fall under Sector 2 are invited:

• Witpoortjie

• Grobler Park

• Lindhaven

• Reefhaven

• Princess

• Roodepoort West

• Davidsonville

“Community participation in the fight against crime can save lives. Community Policing Forums were set up to involve all local stakeholders and key organisations in local policing. They meet regularly with the officers in charge of the local police station and discuss problems and solutions to crime in their area. The adoption of community policing did not only turn around the crime situation, but changed the way the police addresses crime,” said spokesperson Captain Juanita Yorke.
