Matric RCLs are ready to set standards

Their roles will include leading by example.

 

The newly selected Hoërskool Die Adelaar’s Grade 12 Representative Council of Learners (RCL) is ready to lead the learners and bring positive change to the school.

About 25 matric learners were selected as RCL members. Within that 25, six are executives. Keletso Pitswane will be serving as the president, Nomonde Funwa and Letlhogonolo Motshelanoka will be serving as the vice presidents, Jabulile Radebe will be serving as the secretary, Zilungile Mbombo will be serving as the public relations officer and Precious Shisana will be serving as the treasurer.

These leaders will be under the guidance of three teachers, namely Michelle Breedt, Erna Geringer and Heinrich Neethling. Their roles will include leading by example, meaning that they have show to diligence and take responsibility for their school work.

They have to be accountable, reliable, and courteous with regard to learners and other stakeholders. They have to work as a team and demonstrate commonality of purpose regarding learner programmes aimed at improving learner performance. Further, they are required to be the middle man between the learners and the school. They have to show willingness and enthusiasm to share knowledge and interact with fellow learners.
