The South African Weather Service has issued a warning about severe thunderstorms today, 15 January.
The thunderstorms are expected to take place between noon and 11pm. Residents are advised to take the necessary precautions for themselves and their pets. Motorists are also advised to be extra cautious if they have to be on the road.
Possible heavy rains, damaging winds and hail is expected.
The thunderstorms are due to the extreme heat that has continued since the past weekend.
