Lynne Davis, the principal of the school, attributed the achievements to the learners being motivated from the word go to perform well.

For the third consecutive year, Trinityhouse Little Falls High School continued to maintain its 100 per cent pass rate among its matriculants.

In additional to this praiseworthy achievement, this Independent Examination Board (IEB) registered school also obtained a 100 per cent bachelor pass rate with 72 distinctions; a result the school deems exceptional.

Lynne Davis, the principal of the school who congratulated every former learner who arrived to fetch a hard copy of the results on Thursday, 3 January, attributed the achievements to the learners being motivated from the word go to perform well.

“Last year we had a very motivated group of learners. We also instilled a very good work ethic among them which each learner had to work on. To some it came naturally and others needed help to develop it,” a pleased Lynne said.

She also attributed the success to the perfect chemistry between the learners and staff. “We have very committed teachers and a fantastic team of staff. The combination of diligent, hardworking learners who wanted to do well and staff who were committed to helping them do so was our winning formula,” she reflected.

Lynne told Northsider that they will be looking at maintaining their exceptional pass rate, despite a much bigger matric class this year.

One of the top achievers, Joel Paulsen, who attained seven As and was listed top-one student in Geography and Science nationally, encouraged the new class of matrics to never give up on their original goals. “A lot of times you’ll start feeling despondent and want to give up after just one bad test. But no matter what, don’t give up on the goals you have set for yourself at the beginning of the year. Just keep on working hard and stay committed,” he said.
