Couple welcomes Life Wilgeheuwel’s sole New Year baby

The maternity section at Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital checked in one special new guest on New Year’s Day 2019.

A couple from Amarosa welcomed their second child at Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital on New Year’s Day when baby Chloe Marshall was born at 7.40am. She weighed 2,9kg and measured 47,5cm in length.

Anthony and Barbora Marshall share a fairytale story, having met at a Johannesburg restaurant while Barbora, a flight attendant, had a stop-over at OR Tambo International Airport. It was pretty much love at first sight for the couple, as no more than a year and two months later they tied the knot and vowed to spend the rest of their lives together.

The couple has now welcomed Chloe as their second child. She was the only New Year’s baby at Life Wilgeheuwel. Life Flora Hospital and Netcare Pinehaven Hospital were left empty-handed. Chloe being born on the first of the first was quite special for Anthony and Barbora, as their first child was born on the second of the second (2 February).

Life Wilgeheuwel also welcomed one Christmas baby 10 minutes before midnight, while Netcare Pinehaven also had one Christmas baby.
