Four break-ins plague northern Roodepoort in the space of 24 hours

The first and fourth robberies occurred approximately 24 hours apart.

A streak of break-ins began at a complex in Florin Road yesterday morning, with the fourth being carried out by armed robbers earlier this morning.

The first two of the four robberies occurred at the same complex in Florin Road, mere hours apart. The first robbery occurred in the morning and the second during the course of the day. With one of the robberies, there were no signs of forced entry into the unit, and the tenant is baffled as to how the robbers broke into the unit.

However, in the case of the other robbery, the robbers forced their way through the front door by breaking the lock. It is suspected that they may have gained entry to the property via the greenbelt behind the complex. It’s unknown what exactly was taken in either of the robberies, but it is believed that no one was home at the time.

The third and fourth robberies occurred in close vicinity to each other, both at complexes on Sovereign Road. The third robbery occurred at about 8pm last night, and it is believed that the two suspects were armed. It’s alleged they held up a guard at the complex before proceeding to rob one of the units and then fleeing into the veld around the complex.

The final robbery occurred this morning, at a second complex in Sovereign Road and is believed to have been carried out by the same suspects from the third robbery. Shots were allegedly fired during the fourth robbery, but luckily nobody was harmed.
