Kota and braai poorly attended

The event was poorly attended by the residents; however, the few that managed to make it had a wonderful time trying out all the different kinds of sandwiches and meat.

Talented fast-food entrepreneurs in Zandspruit gave the community a taste of some of their delicious dishes during a Kota and Braai event on 1 December.

The event was poorly attended by the residents; however, the few that managed to make it had a wonderful time trying out all the different kinds of sandwiches and meat.

Mmapaseka Nthile, one of the organisers of the event, said the idea of the event was to give exposure to the local entrepreneurs who are trying to make a living in the area.

Another organiser, Itumeleng Dithupe, who is also a photographer and author, attributed the poor attendance to laziness in the community. “It’s is not easy to survive in this area and the lack of support when we hold events is saddening,” he said after the expected crowd failed to materialise.

“People in the area are lazy and choose not to be hard workers,” Dithupe criticised. He concluded by revealing that he is working on the new edition of his children’s storybook which he plans to publish next year.
