Love for veggies now a clothing brand

'Amavege' which means 'vegetables' in English is the only way Rider could promote fashion and healthy living when he launched his clothing line eight months ago.

His love for vegetable salads and healthy living gave birth to Rider Seakamela from Zandspruit’s idea of starting a clothing line called Amavege.

‘Amavege’, which translates to ‘vegetables’ in English, is the only way Rider could promote fashion and healthy living when he launched his clothing line eight months ago.

“Amavege is a clothing brand that aims to promote healthy living through swag,” he said, during the recent showcase of his fashionable gear in Zandspruit.

“Healthy living is very important to me – so I decided to name my brand Amavege in order to raise awareness in the area. My collection includes caps, designer trousers, t-shirts, designer jackets, fanny packs and handbags,” he said about his products.

With only R500, the passionate entrepreneur promised his potential clients that they could walk away with a variety of clothes including a cap, track pants, t-shirt and a fanny pack.

He said his collections mostly target the youth, who are enthusiastic about the latest fashion trends in the market, because that is what he designs for and what he likes to see in the streets – “… people confidently dressed up in cool fashionable clothes and owning their look is what I enjoy seeing in the streets,” he said, as he elaborated on his vision.

He added that his brand is well-received in his community, but he also aims to reach a bigger market by taking his brand to different parts of Johannesburg.

Interested buyers can follow Rider’s brand on the following social media platforms: Twitter and Facebook as Amaveg and Instagram as Amavege brand. Alternatively, they can call him on 073 291 2631.
