Joburg West Cluster cleans out offenders during the weekend

The arrested suspects will appear in various courts according to their offences.

A total of 113 suspects were apprehended in the Johannesburg West Cluster, which comprises seven police stations, last weekend.

The suspects were nabbed for different offences, including possession of drugs, drunken driving, assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, malicious damage to property, theft, shoplifting, interfering with police, pointing of firearms, possession of stolen property, reckless and negligent driving, theft out of motor vehicles and armed robbery.

According to Captain Balan Muthan, the Honeydew Police spokesperson, some of the arrests were the result of Operation Buya Mthetho, which was conducted on 16 November, when the men in blue together with other law enforcement agencies conducted a number of roadblocks.

The arrested suspects will appear in various courts according to their offences.
